Interesting

it is interesting to see that my post on pushparajah's book vanishes for the fifth time. It seems to be a known problem in blogspot. :-(

  • Dear Peyarili,

First of all, my apology for not writing in Tamil. It is my bed time and it will take atleast 30 minutes to type my comment in Tamil, so please bear with me.

I read your views on Mr. Pushparaja's book. I understand your fear of the crisis not being looked upon on all the sides. That is the very problem I am also facing. It is really confusing on which side is talking the truth.

Please don't mistake me if my posting is not portraying the passion for this crisis. If I word my feelings for the Sri Lanka crisis, it won't do any justice to the pain people are experiencing for long decades.

The first whole book I got in my 35 years is Mr. Pushparaja's. But that opened the floodgates of questions and doubts for which I need to read other books that are available currently. Only then, I can atleast feel I know something. I realize there are lot of views one has to cover to get a clear picture.

    Thank you.

    Your friend,
    Raj Chandra

  • Peyarili,
I do not know exactly how to fix your problem. But i have heard that many people had the same problem as you're experiencing. May be itz better you create new template and see what will happen.

  • Raj Chandra, (as usual) I have a feeling that my intention to write this write up might have not been conveyed by my post. I appreciate the reviews of the book by you and others. At the same time, I wondered whether there is a restriction in India for getting the books that tell other side of the story. Also, I wanted to point out the fears existing in the minds of people living on both coast of Palk Strait. That's all.

  • DJ, thanks. I thought giving the Tamil headings with specific characters such as ' costs the problem of vanishing posts. However, I am not sure. Let's see.

  • Dear Peyarili,

Sorry that I didn't answer your question raised in the trackback reg. getting the books that tell the other side.

I can speak only for myself, and honestly, I had never tried to obtain the books that discusses about the crisis(and telling the other side of it).

So to answer your question, I don't know whether the resources were available in Tamilnadu during early 90s. One good thing I did was, I refused to listen to the main stream publications' views on the crisis(Indian and Sri Lankan government versions, political parties version(or junk?) and the different Tamil organizations). I just read them and discard them. Another problem was there was not much of knowledge about Tamil writers who are writing about this(atleast in my friends' circle).

Only after I started reading tamil blogs(from middle of this year), my interest on the crisis flared again. I started and continuing the search for more information, books and the opinions. Will be doing that hereafter.

    Thank you for your thoughts.

    Regards,
    Raj
